Under the umbrella of the BBV Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH founded in 1984, with its headquarters in Hirtenberg/Austria, Europe’s largest supplier of steel and light alloy wheels for the passenger car aftermarket came into being. In the 90s, the ALCAR Group acquired leading distribution companies in the most important European markets, through which and many other distribution partners it supplies the entire European aftermarket.

ALCAR is an internationally active industrial and commercial group which places its strategic focus on steel and alloy wheels. The ALCAR Group is also the market leader in the European passenger car wheels aftermarket sector. The group's main business activities focus on wholesaling on national and international level, manufacturing steel and alloy wheels as well as distributing tyre pressure monitoring systems(TPMS) and fitted units. The international presence of the Austrian group of companies amounts to 29 companies in 16 European countries in which around 780 employees from development, manufacture and distribution conduct successful business activities with six proprietary brands.

With a complete range for passenger cars, SUVs, off-road vehicles and trucks, the light alloy brands AEZ, DOTZ and DEZENT as well as the steel wheel brand ALCAR STAHLRAD achieve wide coverage.

In terms of quality ALCAR banks on the distinction “Made in Germany”. In early 2005, the company completed the largest construction project in its history: Today, the ALCAR Group-owned ALCAR Leichtmetallräder Produktion GmbH is spread over a total area of 14,000 square meters, manufacturing more than 1.2 million state-of-the-art light alloy wheels per year. With its light alloy wheel brands, the ALCAR Group appeals to customers from all walks of life. The complete range for passenger cars, off-road vehicles and light trucks includes wheels from 13″ to 22″ in 72 designs for roughly 1,800 product items and millions of applications. ALCAR applies the same system of accessories for all brands. 17 warehouses all over Europe that stock about 800,000 light alloy wheels meet the highest availability standards.
Steel wheels
Steel wheels require high availability at the beginning of the winter season. 14 sites across Europe stock up to 2.5 million steel wheels that are supplied to retailers, and hence end consumers in the shortest possible time. The ALCAR Group offers a 24-hour service in European metropolitan areas. The steel wheels supplied by the ALCAR Group originate from the proprietary steel wheel plant ALCAR Ruote SA (Switzerland) and other manufacturers, in particular the world’s largest steel wheel manufacturer Hayes Lemmerz.
